Frequently Asked Questions
Why does beer temperature matter for priming sugar?
Colder beer holds more dissolved CO2 naturally. If you prime based only on batch size without accounting for residual CO2 from fermentation temperature, you risk over- or under-carbonating.
Can I use table sugar instead of corn sugar?
Yes, table sugar (sucrose) works fine and is slightly more fermentable by weight, so you need a little less than corn sugar for the same carbonation level.
What if my calculated amount is negative or zero?
That means your beer already has more residual CO2 dissolved than your target level, so you don't need to add any priming sugar.
